FAQs (10)

Customer Questions
How do I cure uneven toasting?

This can be due to type, thickness or freshness of bread - uneven cut bread will not toast evenly. Also try using different bread type.

Should the elements glow red?

On 4-slice models around 95% of the outer elements will glow red after a number of uses but the inner elements will not as they only have half the power of the outer ones.

Can I cancel my toast at any time?

Yes you can, just press the cancel button.

Can I toast bagels or other bread types?

Yes you can toast bagels (some of our toaster have bagel feature) and other bread types).

How do I clean my toaster?

Before cleaning make sure you have unplugged your toaster and let it cool down. Then slide out the crumb tray clean it and then replace and try to do this regularly. Wipe the outside of the toaster with a damp cloth, and then dry.

What bread can I put in my toaster?

It is better to use slices of bread. Dry/stale bread toasts more quickly than fresh bread and thinly sliced bread toasts more quickly than thickly sliced bread.

What does the de-frost button do?

The toasting time is automatically altered to give you the same degree of browning as you would get with unfrozen bread toasted on the same setting.

What is a removable crumb tray?

It is a tray at the bottom of the toaster that collects the loose crumbs - This tray should be regularly removed and cleaned.

What is browning control?

The browning control allows you to choose how much you want your bread toasted.

How do I clean my toaster?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Cable too short for use other than next to sockets Colour is nice, toasts really well and evenly so appears great value for money, however the cable is so comically short it is just no use at all. It departs the toaster on the right side, my sockets are on the left and about 20cm up from the toaster. You lose 15cm travelling the cable under the toaster through the clips and it leaves a cable so short you can't plug it in anywhere. I used an extention that got knocked off the shelf and the toaster is so light it flew off the shelf and broke.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Does the job Slightly disappointed with the toaster. It has no crumb trays so the only way to clean debris is to turn it upside down and shake it. Very tinny body but it toasts the bread OK. You get what you pay for.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Toaster A bit disappointed in this toaster I find that the slots are not deep enough for a slice of bread. You have to flip it to get all the bread toasted. On a plus it looks nice.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not suitable for toasting bread This toaster looks good and has all the usual features but it should be called a crumpeter or bagaler as this is all it is suitable for. A normal slice of bread sticks out of the top by over an inch when toaster is pressed down. Unless you want to trim down your bread or have half toast half bread don’t buy it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Standard Toaster This toaster looks smart in the kitchen, has ample width for thick toast/crumpets etc and a good range of browning options. The rewarm and 'toast from frozen' buttons do what they should. The glowing pop-up button means you can see at a glance whether the toast's popped up in pre-dawn, pre-coffee gloom. It does not fit the entire slice for some of the larger breads. Mind you, none of the domestic toasters I've ever used have done, and at well under £50 for a four-slice toaster, this is actually still in the 'affordable' range of what's out there. I just turn it over half-way through toasting!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from awful product It’s not worth the money. It can’t toast normal sized bread . The slots are too short . Mine broke within 2 weeks . It’s flimsy and poorly made . I can’t believe a company like Russel Hobbs can manufacturer such an awful product. Obviously made to a price point. Terrible quality . Total rubbish , Steer clear .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from put a slice of bread into the toaster, push the leaver down and wait. When the toasted bread is ready out it pops on its own,The slice is done to a tee from the middle outwards the edges have not been toasted, cannot put the toast back in as the toast in the middle will burn

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The slots are too short and too shallow The slots are too short and too shallow to take anything but small slices of bread. We will have to buy another toaster but from a shop where we can look at the product before buying it.
