Basic Biscuits

We love a good brew here at Russell Hobbs, so it's important to have the best basic biscuits for dunking!

Ingredients
  • 100g butter
  • 150g caster sugar
  • 1 teaspoon
  • 5ml vanilla essence
  • 1 medium egg
  • 100g plain flour
  • 100g self raising flour

 

Method

  1. Put the butter, sugar and vanilla essence in a bowl. Beat at medium speed till fluffy (1-2 minutes).
  2. Reduce speed. Add the egg. Gradually increase speed till everything has combined. Sift the flours together then work them into the mixture.
  3. Form the mixture into balls. Put them on a greased baking tray. Flatten them slightly. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°C for 12-15 minutes.
  4. Cool on the tray for a few minutes, then move to a wire rack.
