Spaghetti Bolognese

Spaghetti Bolognese

Feeling the stress? Nothing a good ol' Spaghetti Bolognese can't sort out. This simple recipe is easy to make with those cupboard essentials.

Ingredients
  • 300g spaghetti
  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 large white onion
  • 30ml olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 30g tomato puree
  • 2 x 400g tins chopped tomatoes
  • 30g tomato ketchup
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method: 

Serves 4-6

  1. Finely dice the onion and garlic. In a pan heat the oil and add the onions and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes with no colour.
  2. Add the beef, season and cook for 8-10 minutes until the beef is well cooked. Stir at regular intervals and make sure the beef is separated and not stuck together in lumps.
  3. Add the tomato puree and tomato ketchup and cook for a further 4-5 minutes.
  4. Add the tomatoes and oregano, bring to the boil and simmer for 25-30 minutes.
  5. Cook the spaghetti in salted water, toss in olive oil and top with the bolognaise sauce.
