Breakfast in Bed for Valentine’s Day

What does it take to let that extraordinary person know they’re loved on a special day? Microwave humming. Coffee machine gurgling. Toaster and kettle popping and steaming. And they said romance is dead.

Breaking bread

It sounds like some kind of strange, futuristic dystopia where our love for another human being is measured by how many mod-cons we can successfully operate simultaneously.

We even have accessories for our mod-cons. The gesture of sliding a heart-shaped frame into the toaster, to mark their early-morning bread with our affection must surely be a step too far? Any other day of the year… Yes. On Valentine’s Day? Just show me where you keep the ‘His and Hers’ teacups, and call me Cupid.

Good mornings

A modern kitchen appliance is the sort of ideal gift that mirrors Valentine’s Day. Understated but thoughtful it’ll be even more appreciated if you’re the one putting the kettle on and preparing the toast.

Modern kitchens mean that even the tightest of morning-schedules can squeeze in time for breakfast in bed a few times a year. With the low prices of quality toasters and kettles and other conveniences, it takes more in the way of multi-tasking skills, than money to keep those special people happy.

Go on. It’s only once a year. Not including birthdays, anniversaries, Christmas, boxing day, Sundays. Well, good job it’s breakfast-made-easy.
