Win with Your Mother’s Day Recipe

Do you like to start Mother’s Day with breakfast in bed? Or perhaps you gather your family for a traditional Sunday roast dinner?

Whether you’re doing the pampering or being pampered, good food can make all the difference on this special day.

Russell Hobbs is calling you and your family to share your Mother’s Day recipes, and you could win a luxury Toaster and Kettle set to help you prepare the perfect meal.

Perhaps you like to show your mum you love her with a homemade cake? Or you make cookies with the kids?

Tell us what you think makes the ultimate Mother’s Day menu, how you make it, and how you present it, and we could be featuring your recipe right here on the official Russell Hobbs website.

The best suggestion will win a Kettle and Toaster set from the winner’s choice of our Heritage or Deluxe ranges and we’ll be featuring other top picks on the site here as the competition progresses.

Entering the competition couldn’t be easier – simply send us your ultimate Mother’s Day Recipe to russellhobbscompetition@gmail.com. Be as creative as you like, how would you prepare the food? Would you serve it on a tray with flowers and a card? Or get the family sat around the dining table with mum’s favourite music on the stereo? The only condition is that what you write must be original – but then your mum is a one-off original anyway, so why wouldn’t it be?

However you’re planning to celebrate this Mothering Sunday, let us know what’s on the menu and you could win some luxury goods to brighten up your kitchen.

How to enter

  • Email your recipe to russellhobbscompetition@gmail.com by 11th March 2012
  • Include your name and contact daytime telephone number
  • Entries should be no more than 500 words long
  • Winners will be selected for uniqueness and creativity
  • The winning recipe will be announced on 12th March 2012 on Russell Hobbs website
  • The overall winner receives on Toaster and Kettle set worth £100. They may choose either Heritage of Deluxe range
  • We reserve the right to publish a selection of submitted recipes on the official Russell Hobbs website

    kettles on the blink

    this really makes me think
    All those years of half baked bread and waiting for a brew
    I could have made life simpler by buying goods from you!

    Recipe for mothers day? large helping of Hot tea, hot bath and locked door followed by a huge scoop of normal family chaos. Mix 2 equally tired measures of parents with a pinch of cheeky back chat and stir till the mixture is unbearably tense. When brain cells reach boiling point reduce the heat. Sprinkle a level measure of common sense back in to the equation. Bundle everyone in to the back of the car and head for a good old family pub meal. Voila! Enjoy the perfect peace and quiet that only comes when someone else has prepared the food.

    to make the whole day special cook a full english breakfast then a whole full roast dinner then pudding to finish off all made from scratch

    200 grams butter
    200 grams sugar
    200 grams flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla essence
    3 tablespoons cocoa powder, dissolved in a little hot water to make a smooth paste

    Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Grease a 9-inch tin.

    cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. Sieve in flour and baking powder and fold with a spatula until just mixed. Stir in eggs and vanilla and then cocoa paste.

    put into tin and bake for 40 to 50 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the centre of the cake comes out clean. Let cake cool in tin on a rack. I decorate it with chocolate buttons or smarties.

    roast leg of lamb with all trimmings
    roast 180 o for 21/2 hrs with roast potatoes/parsnips mash, greens cabbage/green french beans broccoli
    worcestershire/redcurrant sauce

    fruit pavlova/cream for dessert

    chicken breast in cheese and bacon sauce , adn after spotted dick custard or cream .

    Sweet Mama Vanilla Hearts French toast!

    Ingredients
    2 eggs
    1/2 cup milk
    2 tablespoons sugar
    1 tablespoon Vanilla Extract
    1/4 teaspoon Cinnamon
    1 tablespoon creamy butter
    6 slices Bread
    Directions

    Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon in a big bowl!

    Then melt the butter in frying pan over a medium-high heat. Dip bread slices ( I cut into heart shapes for added effect!) in egg mixture and brown each side in the pan. Serve with maple syrup and then taste a bit of heaven! Sweet and warming, just like mum!

    Hello Everyone,

    After an amazing few weeks and hundreds of entries, Russell Hobbs is pleased to announced that we have found the perfect Mother’s Day recipe! It took several days of contemplation, rumbling bellies and a keen eye for all things food related to help decide what deserved to win one of our Toaster and Kettle sets.

    The competition was extremely fierce and the sheer imagination of some of our entrants was inspiring to say the least. We want to thank everyone who entered, especially to those creative types who bought a smile to our faces and those heartfelt recipes that are going to WOW their mothers on Sunday.

    So, with a final thanks for all those involved and best wishes to all Mums out there this coming Sunday, we would like to announce that Diane Halliwell was the winner with her beautifully unique “Chocolate and Beetroot Tart‏”.
